I love sci fi books and was so excited to read this knowing a film is being made that's directed by the same director of parasite... And I was left so disappointed!! There was so much detail in the book but nothing that contributed to lore, strong character development or the plot... Just mentions of previous colonies that didn't really relate to the plot. The story for Mickey7 just doesn't really go anywhere... When you're reading it you think it could be a conspiracy theory, there could be a huge twist (mystery genre type) or the end would be an original sci fi concept... But there's nothing? Hoping the movie will be a loose adaptation and takes the opportunity to improve on the above cause it is a great concept but fizzled out pretty quickly after the start of the book! One positive is it gets straight into the action from the first page!
