I love the musical Cats. I know all the words, all the music, I've seen the stage show 3 or 4 times; i love it. alot of reviews are so freakedout by the way the cats looked andthe storyline, but I'm not. Cats is very simple. It's a bunch of funny songs about cats that you would particularly enjoy if you have a cat. Humorous cat traits are made into personas/characters and songs are written about them. That's it. There is a loose thread holding it all together in the theme of Old Deutoronomy choosing one cat to live the next of its nine lives. I was excited to see the movie. There were some good things about it. I loved the animated ears and tails, i thought they really added to the emotions of the characters and they were done really well. I liked Taylor Swift's performance. However, there were many things wrong with it. Why did they feel the need to put in a Villian? Why did Jennifer Hudson enter crying on full blast with snot running down her face for the entire movie? Why couldn't i understand the words the actors were singing? Why did they change the music for Mungojerrie and Rumpleteazer to be boring and forgettable? I give this movie 3 stars because the original songs are so good and for the nostalgia factor, but everything new they put in ruined it. And all the snot ruined my appetite.
