this book has had an unwavering place in my top ten books since I read it for the first time when I was ten, and it even got better when I read it again many years later. it’s got a great world built, the plot keeps you on your toes, and honestly? it’s an amazing book about kids growing up too fast, psychological manipulation, and war in space. it’s thrilling, character-driven, and incredibly well written. 9.4/10, probably my favorite sci-fi book ever, except for maybe it’s sequels, ‘the speaker for the dead’ and ‘ender’s shadow,’ which surpass even the original.
