Adam Arbique – Google

This one caught me by surprise. I went in expecting a comedy, but this is so much more than just a comedy. It has funny moments, but a comedy is not the core of what this show is. It's more of a social commentary. It gives me slight mike judge vibes, and Luke Wilson does a great job capturing the essence of the protagonist, Jeff. This show, in a very weird way, is exceptionally relatable. It tackles themes like purpose, personal growth, and the crushing weight of life. It penetrates through these themes at a decent pace and satisfyingly trickles in character validation throughout the first season. I'm excited to see what season 2 will bring. If you decide to watch this, just block off a good 4 hours because you won't want to stop until it's over ;) 👌

This show is hard to put down. Jason Segal plays his part very well, and I was able to really empathize what his character is going through with his performance. His natural talent for blunt sarcasm balances some of the heavy themes that his character represents and experiences. Jessica Williams as Gabby is probably one of my favorite characters. She breathes life and color into every scene she is in and they accentuate this radiance with her wardrobe and her setting, her office pops as brightly as her personality. To top it all off, she really lands with the humour. I get solid laughs from her every episode. Very consistent and engaging performance and her chemistry with the other actors pays dividends. This show is definitely worth a watch, and set aside a few hours as you will want to binge.
