Like most people, I suspect - after the first half an hour, wondered if it was time to give up, but after wondering why Tony's 'face didn't fit', carried on. Smiled at the ideas stolen from Scorsese's 1973 stormer 'Taxi Driver', with flashes of city street-lighting, world-weary driver, violent and vulnerable passengers...and a supposed druggy workmate who had actually fought for his country; Afghanistan - like equally disturbed loner 'Travis Bickle' being an ex-Vietnam 'grunt' (Robert De Niro).

Ho hum...at least we know what 'cancel culture' looks like now...and I was always told that was a 'lefty' thing. What's next - HIGNFY - surely not? Funny - it's programmes like this when the comments start 'I have never watched this programme before - but...'; sounds almost like that stormer by Mr Johnson telling the Daily Mail he wouldn't watch the Oprah Winfrey show with Meghan & Harry - however...come the next morning, we're told he indeed had his feet up at home, watching every minute.

I've been listening to it for the past 45 years - and gradually sensed the disregard of mainly classical pieces and more of - well...y'know 'popular tunes' - in the mid seventies it used to be 90%-10%...now it's the other way round - but you can see that most of the lot who will slide in Beethoven, Mozart along with Bach and/or Ravel - not forgetting 'Ooh...that's the British Airways one!!' - AKA 'Lakmé, Act I: Flower Duet' by Leo Delibes (probably the only piece by the composer Classic FM actually plays). Talking of that radio station - something also tells me the kind who will pick their one - or two - classical pieces would have been first listened to on Classic FM. Think of Barrington Pheloung's 'Morse Theme' - which has also popped up a couple of times on Desert Island Disc.
