I originally played War Thunder around 2014-16, very casually but I worked through part of the German air tree. Recently came back to try it again as I was feeling the flight simulator itch but my lifestyle right now doesn't support a full hotas setup. Decided to start on American air. When I returned I was pleasantly greeted by 360k SL, and 450 GE saved up from the old days. I have never spent a penny on the game. I do pretty decently in Air RB matches, almost always manage to get a kill or three. I play arcade sometimes too and tend to absolutely dominate in that mode. Low tier gameplay was fun, but I noticed that by the time I reached the first rank III Corsair I had almost completely depleted my original stash of SL. What???? The difference in economy from the early days is almost unbelievable. When I first played I was printing money; I never got past Germany rank III but I was making SL every match. Now I can't even replace what I spend on a single aircraft! What a waste of time. When the recent news came to light it all started to make sense. I can't recommend this game to anyone until they fix this broken system!
