I would recommend viewing for actors especially. It's a master class in the depiction of psychic pain. Or, if you just like feasting your eyes on Taron Edgerton, there's that, too.

I only made it through this because I like the actors. The music was forgettable and beyond dull, the story ridiculously simplistic, and the direction cringeworthy. Why do so many contemporary Broadway scores sound the same? Not worth your time IMHO.

There are some laughs, Gosling and Robbie are terrific, as is Helen Mirren’s narration. Otherwise, it’s a hot pink mess.
