A new look at the comic philosophical outlook that arose in "Unbreakable", sucked itself into a psychiatric morbidity with "Split" and finally turned round and kicked the ball into its own net with "Glass". I suppose I left some time between watching the three films, but it's difficult to grasp the continuation linkages that I suppose was supposed to revolve around the Mr. Glass character. Samuel Jackson is making a new career, from playing enigmatic manipulative geniuses like the one in this picture and Nick Fury in that other comic universe. At least that one has the heroes wearing bright, shiny and colourful gear. I have to say, I rather like my mumbo-jumbo nonsense to be shiny and fun. Maybe the Unbreakable trilogy was searching for a higher philosophy, through the microscopic grind of daily life. However, this branch of man's search for meaning, won't be carrying on, it seems, so we can't look forward to more drab costumes or sad ideas with heroes and villains who can't even fly. Three stars for shooting high, though.
