An implausible movie that could have been much better. It starts well and then disappoints due to poor plotting. The twist that comes at the end is somewhat predictable, and even if it isn’t, the way the movie ends is a let-down. Now what follows is a spoiler. *Spoiler*: The hero’s response to the revelation that he has been manipulated into a suicide mission is downright silly. He had his wife to live for. I suppose his teary-eyed fond acceptance of what his ‘friend’ did is somewhat consistent with his unthinking rush into the suicide mission in the first place. The story would have been stronger if he had realized he had been used coldly as a pawn (not an ‘honest rook’) because he was naive and impulsive.

Slow plot pacing ruins good characterisation. Has patches where it begins to grip, only to disappoint. Don’t recommend.
