This had so much potential and it got squandered. Joe the main protagonist is some no named nobody who has "True skill" and wants to find that and as a boxer I'm down asf for this idea. But once Joe makes to the big stage he's just a literal punching bag for guys with gear. He's supposed to be a diamond in the rough with skill nobody seems to know that's the entire point they spent an episode or two telling us. This is a character you need to see styling on his geared opponents while he has none yet he gets humbled during his fights but still wins or something like that. They spent the entire first season hyping this big fight up between Yuri and Joe just to epically make Yuri show up gearless which was dope asf.....but.....as a fighter I cannot enjoy the experience as much because this mans upper torso was covered in scar tissue as a boxer that's ALL I'm aiming at plus he just got out of surgery he's in NO fighting condition whatsoever so technically no matter how you looked at Joe had no chance of losing the fight was a throw. What's worse is we don't even get to see how the fight ended we just go a year in the future and say Joe won and Yuri's somehow in a wheelchair. Megalobox got hyped up just to be a bad anime all around.
