Visually, it is amazing. Pixel art done so lovingly. The places you will encounter are so full of personality and just makes you want to stay and enjoy the scene. Speaking of personality, the characters are just as vibrant. From background folks to level bosses, it's a lot to sink your teeth into. Gameplay may be simpler than you'd expect but it serves it's purpose of getting to the next part of the story. The level bosses do make it more interesting to use the gaming mechanics but I'd rather blaze through and get to the next part of the story. Sam is the cutest little thing which makes John more endearing. The rest of the cast keeps the story interesting though some may come out as RPG stereotypes. Great time playing this. 8/10
