Stunned by the over the top reviews. This is a Saturday morning kids show. Laughably bad dialogue and boring “conflict” between poorly written characters. The art is nice.

Brilliant and inventive! Chabon’s masterpiece. Full of jewel like sentences and an amazing alternate history. What if Israel had not survived past 1948? Politician Harold Ickes actually suggested that European Jewry be settled in Alaska. This wild idea was, in real life, rejected by the U.S. senate, but what if it had not been? Chabon takes the concept and makes a complex and fascinating hard boiled detective novel.

Hilarious to read the one star reviewers complaining about female characters “ordering men about”. These same people are upset about lack of what they deem properly feminine hair dos and cursing. Sure they all love Yellowstone and tacky reality shows.
