I’m disappointed by the dlc. I thought the base game was very well done, despite the reused bosses and anything past Lyndell being unreasonably scaled for how the game progression felt, I thought Elden Ring was a 9/10. But with the DLC I would have to drop the entire series to a 6/10. Before IF facing a boss or area that felt overwhelming you could leave/grind to level up higher or find better equipment and return stronger, now WHEN facing a boss or area that is overwhelming, which is the entire point of the dlc, you have to start searching the entire map for what is basically dead tree bark. And a majority of the dead tree bark is hidden behind bosses that require you to have more dead tree bark. To say this is just a “skill issue” would be an unfair argument, if I can hit a boss for less than 1% of their health bar with a plus 10 weapon at soft locked scaling and them to 1 shot me with max armor/vigor is poor balancing. They could have implemented the strength scaling system from sekiro, each mainline/optional boss giving you an permanent attack buff, would have made the DLC enjoyable but instead you need to search for dead bark to get a 5% increase to attack/defense. Harder does not equal better. The stat progression system in combination with the reused bosses/weapons has really ruined my opinion of this game. 2 years to make a dlc wasn’t enough time to get it right
