This precious film is delightfully positive and real at the same time. AJ Fikry is a complicated man who has lost his wife and will to live. He is also a bookstore owner who is passionate about powerful writing and the simple joy of reading it. By a strange set of circumstances, his life changes and he grows into having a family again. Without giving the plot away, let's just say this film has an interesting mix of diverse actors, urban/small town life, themes of trust/intimacy, and lots of ways to nerd out on literary references. As a writer, coach and world traveler - it was definitely my cup of tea. Worth the long running time. Enjoy!
