This book presents itself as feminist literature but then goes on the sexualize its 16 year old main character. There are several unnecessary and uncomfortable sex scenes that add nothing to the plot; in my option the man characters boyfriend only exists to have sex with the MC. The plot is SO interesting but is overshadowed by the shear hypocrisy the author shows. There are several chapter talking about women’s struggles of being sexually harassed and assaulted as well as the prejudice women go through and then the book turns around and shows a sixteen year old talking about how she shaves her pubes. The MC’s friends have no personality other than “smart girl who writes things” and “bubbly girl/victim”. Sure, the book says the friends have interests and hobbies outside of being a victim/friend, but it’s never shown. In my opinion this book has interesting ideas and plot but never expanded on any of them. The exposition was… rough to say the least. It would be best to leave this book on the shelf
