Enjoyed the beginning a lot. Middle was tedious and boring. Ending was okay. Too many random(some) characters meeting up and taking up residence in an old abandoned building, didn’t seem very cohesive,but since most of them died there, it resulted in a contrived plot and ending.

Enjoyed story of 76 year old Mrs.Quinn’s actual rise to fame but did not enjoy reading about the story of her youth and the secret. she kept and later revealed. Latter just distracted from the overall plot and was not necessary or relevant.

I found the time travel - past, present and future very confusing.Need to discuss this with book club members or anyone who wants to do a buddy read to find answers to many of the questions l find unanswered after finishing the book.

I found the last part of the book tedious , as there was too much emphasis on the politics of the decades from the 70’s on.

After reading Salt to the Sea,l had hoped this second introduction to a Ruth Sepetys book would be as enjoyable.This was not , unfortunately!

Excellent! Do not compare to The Book Woman of Troublesome Creek. Giver of Stars has a completely different slant and should be judged on its own incredible merits!

Last part of the book dragged and l was anxious for it to end!
