I can see why the final episode was so heartbreaking for so many of the GOT fans. But the havoc Danny created in the penultimate episode was devastating and brutal ... she had to be brought to justice. I think choosing Jon to be the person for the job makes it somewhat palatable for Dany’s fans ( me included) . End of one era marks the beginning of another ... where Sam pitches the idea of democracy , to give common public a chance to vote and elect their king ..... With Dany killed and Jon unable to have family puts an end to the house Targaryen... Bran unable to have family totally puts to an end to the concept of children taking over the ruling whether they are worthy or not ... The finale marks the new beginning.....
