I personally liked it, it was kind of the opposite of what the first game was where it had mostly focused on the story, but this one seems to focus a whole lot more on gameplay. It was different, but still would've hoped for better story telling. it did make me upset that joel died but honestly it would've still been a good plot point if they had done it better.
