Walked in with no expectations. Was not planning on seeing a movie, but here we are. This was great. Beautifully shot, the use of negative space both audibly and visually was astounding. Found the story compelling and fairly original. Few characters fates turned up how I predicted (mind you, I've never read the source material nor watched the prior version of the movie, I was watching cold). Yes, the movie was long, but it didn't feel it. At no point was I looking at a scene, questioning its necessity. In reality it went by very quickly. And I'm ready for part two.
