Only got 2 stars for the wonderful animation, although even this isn't that great in places! I'm a HUGE James Cameron fan and he really let me down with this boring movie. I had doubts wether he could pull off a sequel to the Incredible Avatar but I thought if anyone can Cameron can, I was wrong. He really tried to recapture the wonder of Pandora but totally failed, we just got long drawn out sequences of watching millions of dollars of special effects lumbering across the screen. The Sully family were so Americanised it was totally cringy, "bro" "cuz" and the like being tossed around all the time. Instead of becoming Navi, Jake had become even more of an American "jar head" than he was in the first movie, goodbye Toruk Makto hello Fred Flintstone (without any of Fred's humour)! I've always been impressed with how quickly Cameron can build a fully developed character in just a couple of scenes, I can connect quickly with them and this allows the pace of his previous movies to jog along nicely, looks like he's lost the knack. It's so lazy that so many of the key characters have been poorly"resurrected" from the first movie. I'm utterly terrified to see how bad the third installment will be! 😬
