I really love this show! The characters in this series portray so much heart and soul relatable to real life issues. The main characters are strong, resilient, and very courageous. I love how the writers kept the audience in suspense about who really killed Hannah. I loved the character of Daniel Holden and all his soul searching. The story line is very compatible to real life issues dealing with wrongfully convicted inmates in the judicial system. It characterized the dynamics of what families go through and how everyone one is affected. I hope that this series will be nominated for more outstanding awards.

I agree with the other reviews about this series. It has no good story line. The main character does not play a strong role to be a cop. Her character has too much drama going on in her own life. All the promiscuity, the drugs, the strippers, the sex, the cursing is like everything you see on cable TV. There is no strong story line, no suspense, and the show is very predictable. Starz can do a lot better than this series. Vida, Bitter Sweet, The Affair, Power, all have strong characters, excellent writers, and great supporting actors. Hightown, doesn't hold my attention at all.

I think it's unrealistic to real Extended Family Life especially here in America. I cannot understand why an 11 year old child is cursing his parents and step father out. I cannot understand why there is no discipline from the Adults. Why is it okay for the 16year old daughter to have sex in her parents home like it's a normal thing to do? This is the most twisted show I've seen outside of Shameless. There are absolutely no morals in this flick. Poor William seems to be the only matured character in this series and he's a child! The family is so dysfunctional and irresponsible on all issues on parenting, marriage, and relationships. Netflix could do a lot better.
