MASTERPIECE! GENIUS!! Black Leopard Red Wolf is probably my favorite story set in Africa. Its one of those books I dreaded finishing, knowing there aren't many of its kind out there. Its so poetic, every detail in every word, the descriptions, the characters, the writing style, the horror, the depiction Lgbtq lives, EVERYTHING. An image of pre-colonial Africa is beautifully painted. It feels truly representative of Africa, told the way an African would tell it. I feel like I was really there with Tracker. Its one of the few books I feel I could read again and again and never get bored of, simply because so much happens within those 600 pages, and a lot it is just GOLD. I truuuly hope Marlon James does not abandon this world after the third book of the Dark Star Trilogy. I hope we get to explore more of this world through future books and series' of this kind!
