Cody “ShadowWater”

The movie is visibly beautiful and a clear achievement in cinema technologies. As a new movie it would likely be a masterpiece, that being said this is meant to be a remake of established material which it falls short on. Several lines were altered, which can be understandable at time but the alterations here just seemed awkward or lackluster, sometimes even outright terrible. Characters portrayal & personalities were also not quite right. The characters were unique and expressive but this is another moment where as a stand alone movie would be seen as a high point however once again they're not quite right. They were similar to the characters in the original but the atmosphere and dynamics between characters give a completely different feel and tone of the movie. The musical numbers were also hit and miss. While some were spectacular recreations of the originals as they should be while others were for lack of better word butchered (be prepared). In conclusion this is an amazing and beautiful movie and any who haven't seen the original along with many who have will still love and enjoy. For me, a long time fan of not only Disney but specifically the lion king, this movie is a near total failure. I truly regret seeing it in theaters and would have liked my money back but that's not possible just because I'm completely disappointed with the movie. I hope such disappointments aren't a new trend as the rumors surrounding the lack of musical numbers in mulan, which if true I will not be attending, makes me unsure I'll be attending Disney movies in theaters any longer.
