Reading the one star reviews that complain about too many “pointless plots” leads me to believe the majority of those reviewers are used to the in-your-face Hollywood-style shows where A leads to B which leads to C. If you’re not used to a more intelligently told story with subplots designed to confuse, this show may not be for you. If you appreciate a more nuanced story and aren’t looking for the stereotypical American “thriller”, you’ll likely enjoy this one. My only negative note is that Maya needs to keep her mouth shut at times. Every time she gets new info, she immediately speaks about it and acts upon it. Girl let it unfold and see what happens.

Spoiler: This kid was obviously an alcoholic. You don’t have one nice chat with your mom and suddenly are healed. That’s not how it works. He didn’t need to drive to Philadelphia. He needed to drive to alcohol addiction treatment. He needed to leave his girlfriend alone to spread her wings and find a future more worthy of him. He didn’t love her. He loved himself only.
