I love that HLN plays FF on a marathon basis, especially at night. Peter Thomas made that show the legend it is for us fans. His voice helps me fall asleep most nights during the week. I’m in New York and FF plays until 6am. I no longer need to set an alarm clock with a super-annoying buzz because when Morning Express with Robin Meade comes on at 6am her annoying voice and personality instantly wakes me up so I can turn off the TV. Sorry Robin. Anyway, the new narrator just doesn’t cut it. Similar to how some comedians are much funnier because they are masters at how to deliver the punchline, storytelling is no different. It’s a very different tone and energy watching the show. My first gut reaction when the show started was that it became very generic and less engaging. I can watch the old FF files on repeat like Seinfeld. I’m struggling to connect to the FF2 series reboot. I’m going to keep an open mind and watch them now that everything is on Coronavirus lockdown, but FF2 just isn’t doing justice (no pun intended) to its predecessor.
