Honestly Nhl 22 and 23 are better compared to 24 with simplified controls that make it easier to time a check. I have been playing nhl games forever and this game is the most frustrating in the last 5 years or so. The only thing positive that I can takeaway from nhl 24 is they improved and put efforts in animations. Unfortunately, You can’t go a single shift without tripping someone which was not an issue in nhl 23. the new control system is nearly impossible to time right if you are trying to hit someone and they switched up dekeing controls when there was no need for it. The controls were never a problem in recent nhl games so why switch it up now. Just felt like they made changes when it wasn’t necessary which makes the game very frustrating
