Not just a dark comedy, but the blackest black with only an occasional sardonic comment. I give Richard Gadd kudos for bringing a brave new light on male rape and the psychology of abuse, but incredibly frustrating that he can't stop the cycle of victim hood. His love-hate fascination with his stalker is exactly why the police couldn't take him seriously. Martha beats up your girlfriend, smashes a glass into your face and you don't report either??? And after hearing how traumatic Episode 4 was, I can't help but feel the shock is seeing it happen to a man. Women have been brutally depicted bring raped for decades. Go watch Jodie Foster in the Accused to see a truly graphic depiction. And the fact that Richard wanted to depict himself in reliving such a scene is somehow very disturbing and telling.
