I'd give it 2 stars to respect those who can relate to Elia, there's always a second chance when you can finally find what feeds your hungry soul, in his case I guess a combo of money and anyone he can control/easily gaslighted and desparate.
Because the guy can f* anything around him it's crazy and definitely without her money he'd leave so it's not real love towards her.
Otherwise, it was very painful to watch, since it's extremly far from values (it felt like the writer wanted to justify "bad people"'s behavior by mentioning their past/background/... I' talking about Gabriella) but also realistic taking into consideration what Gabriella had to go through at 17y.o. and the fact that at the end of the day she's a weak and vulnerable person used by a horrible person who doesn't deserve her nor actually love her.
Makes you think and relate to characters.
Sometimes I thought I saw alot of clichés but then I noticed it also included the opposite of them.
I found it confusing and a bit too much to handle.
I still couldn't figure out why was she forced to leave her first child? Who was his father? Was it her father? Would make extremely more sense to the series.
As for other characters they make sense taking into consideration what they went through with their mom (the sister who wasnt loved has attachment issues, low self esteem... the older brother who took care of his mom, very responsible, self blame, ...)
As for Elia's girlfriend, I think she really loved him + calculated that she'll end up alone if he's locked up and didn't want him to go to jail, that's why she lied to Gabriella at the end. So idk what is the true reason for her lying.
An ugly movie about inside ugly people that makes sense. Frustrating.
