I appreciate this show and its efforts to highlight the quality of media coverage. In that spirit I would like to comment on the reporter who questioned Trump last Monday about comparing our COVID response to other countries. First, I am emphatically NOT a Trump fan. But I felt that the reporter's question was clearly in the form of a criticism and not a question of inquiry. The criticism is fair, but I don't feel it is a journalist's place to judge the person or story he or she is covering. I don't think she intended to set him up for his show of weakness and ineptness--that CNN and MSNBC (I don't know what Fox did with this) made hay with--but we know what he is. Why play games with him like that? But I continue to be grateful we have a free society that allows the press to cover a very dangerous President and hold him to account. I continue to admire the fortitude and professionalism I see in members of the press when he is so insulting and denigrating.
