This movie is amazing.
Between the fantastic composition, eerie storyline, intense action, noir/gritty atmosphere, & lurking mystery… the director NAILED it.
Robert Pattinson’s portrayal of Batman is by far the best part of the movie, as you can genuinely see how emotionally and mentally distraught of a person Bruce Wayne is. Everyone likes the charming playboy billionaire, but in this portrayal I feel as if he uses Bruce Wayne as a mask, and Batman is who he feels most himself as. To me that is extremely telling of the kind of character he is in this movie. To see him constantly battle the rage he has, while continuously having to establish his morals and decide what he believes he should do/the person he should be was fantastic. You can tell how hurt of a person Bruce Wayne is, and to see him progress throughout the movie and realize what it truly means to be Batman was great.
The atmosphere of the movie and plot was very eerie, dark, gothic, detective noir, gritty… exactly how I’d picture Gotham in real life. Matt Reeves really outdid himself in portraying this dark and corrupt city, and Rob Pat’s Batman fit perfectly into this world.
Great great great movie. Honestly one of the best things DC has put out! Definitely going to see it again soon (:
