The plot is just incomprehensible terrible
Zendaya, played as Tashi is portrayed as selfish, manipulative and completely devoid of morals.
Following her injury, she proceeds to live her tennis career through her husband, constantly pushing him to a state where he is clearly struggling with his mental health.
Upon hearing her husband decision to quit tennis in order to recover his mental health, Tashi blackmails him into playing harder, ruthlessly telling him with stone-cold eyes 'If you do not win the game, I will leave you.' This highlights that the values Tashi holds of the thrill of her husbands victory to be much more than her husband as a person.
This further proves that she has absolutely zero compassion, or any sort of romantic feelings for her husband, as seen in their dull, and bland conversations.
Frankly, Tashi's relationship serves only to fill the void of dreams she once had, and her husband is nothing to her but an instrument that tashi manipulates and uses to achieve a rush that she, alone could not achieve.
This fervent desire to keep her husband engaged in tennis for her own satisfaction becomes so intense, Tashi willingly sleeps with the opponent of her husband's tennis match, in order for him to forfeit the match the following day. This fully reveals tashi's complete loss of respect for her husband, showing her sole motivation for her actions is the thrill of her patner winning at tennis. This not only critiques Tashi's unfaithful nature to her husband, but also serves to highlights her complete deviance of any morals or ethics.
The filmaker is either a complete misogynist, which in case he somehow got let off the hook seeing as many people seemed to miss his vehemently negative feelings on women, or he just has no clue what he's doing and just attempts to get Zendaya to bang as many people and as many times as he can fit in the movie, in order to appeal to the mainstream audience.
