This movie just made me sad. They didn’t give it nearly the time they needed to give the characters or the events any depth. It’s been years since I read this book but I remember how I felt reading it and how invested I was in the characters. Through the movie my investment was nonexistent. They demonstrated none of the emotional turmoil through their friendship/relationship and underplayed really important plot pieces. I wish the producers/director gave the movie like even 15 extra minutes to create some kind of depth. Just read the books and the spin-offs.
