I really appreciated the detail in this movie. The cinematography is spectacular. The costume designs are beautiful. The relationships are so involved. The reaction to the regional cholera outbreak in China in the early 1900's and how it was dealt with brings an insight of the devastation and death the water borne bacteria became. 5 stars
