Someone asked "What book would best compile the essence of human nature?" Some answered the Bible, some mentioned other Holy books. I said, the books by Gabriel García-Marquez, such as Love in the Time of Cholera. Garcia-Marquez delivers some of humans' absurd secret realities and non-sensical inner-obsessions in extraordinary thought-provoking prose. Worth re-reading.
