I am in no position to judge whether the depiction of the cultural and political background of Mr. Sunshine is accurate, but I found this series to be one of the best series/movies (feels like a movie) I have ever seen. Every element -- cast, plot, cinematography, etc -- is absolutely excellent. It took my breath away several times. That is not my usual reaction to movies, even the ones I like the best. Did Koreans watching this sob at the understated but heart-breaking scenes? I could believe it.
