Just watched on Netflix and I'm haunted by this film, by what I know is going on in troubled areas of the world where our military is using this type of drone warfare to combat terrorist threats. Part of me feels that their work is vital, effective, and the best approach to dealing with suicide bombings, and many other terrorist strategies that target the West--both military or espionage people and civilians. Yet, this movie made so very clear that "collateral damage" estimates are fragile human lives, often those of children. It feels wrong. At the end of the day, it is a question of trying to find the high moral ground where there is none.

Most excellent writing! The conversations were believable; certain lines were so rich they could be cross-stitched on a pillow or taped to the fridge. Insight resonated throughout about what rape does to women every moment of their entire lives. The excruciating passion, tenacity, perseverance and dumb luck required in effective detective work. We have plenty of crime-solving shows with cops and detectives at odds with the FBI, but here we see them working together--well and effectively. The individual lives and personalities of the two detectives was revealed in a mesmerizing way. The tension between Karen, the believer, and Grace, the unbeliever, was believable. Marie Adler's final vindication was not overdone or made into some big Hollywood triumphal ending. It was the tenuous emergence of a crushed soul back into the world. This series gave me a much deeper respect for good detective work, and a much better understanding of the trauma of rape victims.
