A long time avid reader and lover of the Percy Jackson books, I really enjoyed the first episode that just released. I think it holds true to the books so far. It sacrifices only a little material in order to give us a cinematic experience worthy, one could say, of the Gods. The actors are actually in the age range/look like the characters (as opposed to the movie, where Percy looked a bit older). I appreciate that the story is even paced and isn't rushed, and we get small details that will lead us into the upcoming season. (If you watch the end credits, the art at the end will give hints to things that happen in the books and are in store for us)
The diversity of the cast is exceptional so far. We need more Black and BIPOC representation in shows and movies, and Disney is doing just that (Encanto, Raya, Coco, Soul, the new Little Mermaid, Turning Red). I'm looking forward to what comes next.
