This was so incredibly painful to watch! I was born and raised one of Jehovah’s Witnesses, realized from a very early age that I didn’t believe their teachings and didn’t fit in there. At the age of 35 I left everything and everyone I had ever known when I left the faith. Watching this movie 26 years later brought it all back in excruciating detail, the male dominated, judgmental, way of life I’d grown up in. If I wasn’t certain before that I would never set foot in a Kingdom Hall again, I am certain now. I remember why I made that choice and will never regret it for a moment! All that being said, the movie was amazingly accurate in its depiction of the practices, language used, and feelings of being unworthy that are all part of the life of one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. Bravo.
