This book felt like a lecture that caused me an anxiety attack. While it was definitely a page turner, it was trauma after trauma, but in the end what was the point? It felt like an American guilt trip that failed to discuss the reasons why America had a hand in the corruption of Honduras. I guess if the point is to appreciate what you have and understand how easily you can lose everything and to be careful who you let into your life, the book succeeded. It is definitely a page turning, unrelenting thrill ride, but I don’t recommend it for people who have anxiety. It’s going to take a week for my panic attack to go away and the ending wasn’t satisfying enough to relieve it.
