I read many novels of Paulo, he is one of best writers I have came across... This book manuscript found in Accra was a spiritual experience, this book doesn't have a plot but a collection of answers for each and every question occupied in heads of human beings.. This book speak about spirituality, love ,solitude elegance success failure friendship sex..etc .according to me anyone who reads Paulo should read it at least twice because each line has important message for ur soul

Actually the book is a beautiful nostalgia of the author about the love of his life who was not born to be with him forever The thing I liked the most about this book is it explained the innocence and purity of love in protagonist tat makes us realise intimacy between couples is not always achieved in bed but in understanding and the unconditional love they have for each other I mentioned this here because ppl who read this book always speaks about the most unexpected climax but forget to speak about the way the author love and cherish his lost love And about the climax and the way he misses her is to terrible and left tears in my eyes and scars in my heart .it is a beautiful tragedy ❤

A quote from the witch of portobello ❤ It's a peculiar book for self realization and it speaks to ur soul and rejuvenate ur life if u really read this book from heart. In this book Paulo has showed the protagonist (Athena) life in people's (her acquaintance ,friends, her mother) point of view The first half of the book is such a cliffhanger but the second half completely deals with spirituality visions etc .many ppl review this as Paulo's bad work but book is actually a self realization of Athena who travels in all the path denied by society to fill the blank spaces of her life .They tell this because some things in this book like dance, hagia Sofia, the ritual performed by her with Ella and Andrea is considered as absurd ideas but above all one should understand she is disguised as the omnipotent mother of earth gaia with powers of prediction and vision . So I strongly recommend this book for someone who atleast have a glimpse of spirituality ,for those people this book is absolutely a treat but for some minds this book is little absurd but the ideas of the book can grasped by anyone who read this because Paulo's plot is always simple but the ideas are for eternity, and this is not about going against religion and it's laws but something will open ur eyes to the real world of Devine spirituality and laws of nature rather than the absurd and meaningless ideas laid by People centuries ago . Athena - not a witch, not a charlatan or a shenanigan but a women who go in search of herself 💞
