Creating a movie based on severe child abuse doesn’t make it a masterpiece. Come on, I couldn’t watch past the first rape scene.
The director has crossed all the limits set by our society on what is and isn’t acceptable. For example, in Siddarth’s “Chinna” despite the plot being based on child abuse, they never show anything graphically, and even the implied abuse is not severely depicted. The director understands what can and can’t be shown.
However, this director seems to think he can show anything to extract the maximum plot out of child rape. I just wanted to ask the director, “What kind of sick mind do you have?” I am sure he would reply, “It’s just cinema.”
No, it’s not. There’s even a line in the movie from the bald police officer: “I did it even though I didn’t think of it at first, but only did it because I wanted to.” Do you know how many teens get influenced by such dialogue? What kind of message are you trying to give your audience?
After watching this horror, I have decided to skip any Tamil movie with a plot based on a daughter, because you never know what they might do to her for the plot sake.
