So i have been playing for a total of 15 hours now on career and multilayer modes.
Let's start by saying that this is not like forza horizon, this is a racing simulator to an extent I suppose.
You have a number of race modes.
Career
You will start by completing a tutorial builder cup race. This will introduce you to how the game mechanic's works and what to expect form the cars. Career mode has 25 different types of series races spaning different types of cars and tracks.
Cars need to be leveled up to unlock upgrades and CPpoints. These points are used to equip upgrades rather than cash.
These will be refunded when you upgrade to better parts.
Also depending on our driving skills you will earn points when racing which will increase you car level and driver levels.
Featured multiplayer
I found this a little annoying as you can be waiting upto 30 minutes for a race to begin. However during this time you can run practice laps and then try qualifying for the race. You only get 3 laps the post the best lap.
Free play
This mode allows you to set up a custom race to how you want it. You can choose tracks, weather type, timed or circuit races and also AI driver difficulty and how many additional drivers you want to race against.
This mode is OK if you want to get to grips with new tracks and card.
Rivals
This mode allows you to post the fastest times against the best drives across the world and also against your friends. I personally enjoy this mode as your always trying new tuning setups an cars to try and be the best.
Private Multiplayer
Basically you can set up Private lobby's and race with friends. This is good if you want to avoid racing against others in the public lobby's.
Pros.
Graphically it's quite good with good vehicle damage and nice visual back drops to the tracks.
Rivals is alot of fun and makes you want to push the car to its limits
A good selection of cars including all your modern favorites, retro hot hatches and of course my favorite old school JDM cars.
Cons
Career race mode can be a little dull and frustrating at times and does feel your going through the motions.
Car leveling in so annoying as this needs to be done for every vehicle you purchase as they start at level 1.
Car levels max out at 50 and you unlock upgrades as you level up. By which time the car may not qualify for certain races in career mode.
Overall its OK like many raicing ames out their but didn't exite me. The issue with racing games is that they can't really evolve as racing is racing.
Maybe an addition of sudden death or team racing on multiplayer modes would be a good addition where you and friends could have 3 drivers in one race to see how many points you can get.
Mabe a monthly racing tournament where teams have compete for points over 15 races and be crowned monthly champions.
Maybe turn 10 may decide to sell car leveling booster which could help leveling up cars quicker.
If you have Gamepass I suggest you just give it a go.
If you are unsure if it's a game you want to buy and you don't have game pass, teat yourself to a month's worth of game pass because at least you can play other games if Forza missis the mark.
