Disappointed about the language used in this book around the reference to first land owners (Aboriginal people of Australia) being there i.e.
Did Aboriginal people live on OUR land a long time ago? What do you think, Bill?
The capitalised word is my emphasis on how Aboriginal people read such a simple but tone-deaf sentence but highlights the evident disconnect from an author who doesn't understand Australia's relationship with it's indigenous. This is evident by the fact that neither the narrator or the character have a cultural epiphany to correct the language used.
