The Peacmaker is an excellent action film. George Cloony is at his best both in dialogs and in action. The plot is perfectly plausible, considering the fact that now there are about two dozen nuclear powers, and not all countries are responsible in their conduct. I find the naming one of the villain characters who helps assemble a portable nuclear bomb as Pakistani with doctorate in nuclear physics is poetic justice. Mind you, the movie was made before 9/11! There’s something likeable about Eastern European scenes. The movie doesn’t seem antiquated though it is almost quarter century old.

After quite some time, I have watched this very satisfying movie. The director successfully creates an aura of mystery around Denzel Washington. By focusing on the movement and actions of the villains, the director manages spring surprises both on the villains and the viewers. The subdued dialogs, light and shade effects understate the action in the film. He fits into the role like a glove. Doubtlessly a movie worth watching.
