The complaints about the darkness are not taking the symbolism of how dark the period in our history was.
The actors are portraying how horrible the time was and how it can almost make your reactions become numb to all the things that they were exposed to, the complexity of masking your emotions is a tribute to their skill set.
All in all, it exposes the horrible truth that many white Americans want to hide. I know they won't understand why we continue to press the point that Black Lives Matter.
