Not sure why some aren't reveling in the aftermath of an actually being scared in the theater for a change. Crowe is his usually brilliant masterful self as a brutally tortured actor playing a tortured priest in a film directed by the son of the actor who played Father Karras in the original Exorcist. Low lighting and claustrophobic sets add to the impending, heart-skipping horror. Some films aren’t made to be deconstructed. They’re just to be enjoyed. I did.
