Coming from foster homes myself I felt the director and acting did a good job of creating the feel of being at home in an unusual environment, the black urban kid in a white lower middle class home really hits the nail hard, every scene seems to give off emotion, and make the audience feel like they are watching real life take place on the screen. This movie is layered and tugs at your heart in the most memorable way, a perfect blend of sci-fi and drama show the urban decay of Detroit and the less sunshiny side of America’s heart land, pointing to how we are all the same who are not in the 1 percent, as if the suns rays don’t give off the same light for those of us who are not privileged. All the actors even the extras benefit from a great director that brings out the best in them. I just want to give you a sense of the way this movie makes you feel. As for the plot and story, your going to have to watch it for your self, I just want to prep you for emotional road trip this movie takes you on.
