This terrible tragedy was realistically portrayed by actors who truly reflected the terror, trauma, and tenacity of those rugby players whose plane crashed in the Andes! Their survival was a real miracle. The film was so realistic, that I had to leave the room and find something to eat and drink...to help the survivers live through their ordeals. The question remains, could I have done what it takes to survive over 70 days in a freezing mountain clime! It is a film that cannot be forgotten. The director enabled the actors to relive the disaster in daily demonstrations of compassion, fear, courage and sacrifice.

Somehow, watching "Jo Jo Rabbit" during a pandemic...and the Trump presidency... can be an enjoyable and uplifting experience. A good screenplay, fine acting, directing & cinematography help make this film a screen success for 2019!

We honor all who protect and defend our homeland, hoping that conflicts and strife can be resolved by peaceful means...clearer communications, sane discussions & negotiations, and balanced diplomatic accords! "1917"...the film, depicts a WWI event with graphic realism...exceptional cinematography, powerful musical score, and inspiring acting by the two lead actors. A must see film for 2020...when clearer communications, sane minds and wise leaders are so desperately needed!

Unlike many of the critics, I believe the film creates lasting images of life that mirror the visual beauty and mysteries of the "Goldfinch" itself.
