Sad, brutal and a heartbreaking account of life, addiction, abuse and poverty. At times I didn't want to turn the page due to the pain and humiliation this poor boy experiences. However I thank God for his friendship with Leanne.

I loved the books humour, sadness and felt the frustration of the attitude of the times, discrimination and hypocrisy throughout the decades. This book made me cry out laughing ( while reading on a beach in greece at the confession moment! ) followed by the intense sadness at the death of a friend, and many other moments This book is simply wonderful.
