Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny ranks as my third favorite Jones movie, with the first being Raiders of the Lost Ark and Temple of Doom. This movie is slightly better than The Last Crusade but much superior to Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. The first half is classic, with Jones fighting Nazis, which I really enjoyed because that's how I saw him many, many years ago with my dad on VHS in Shillong, bringing back memories. I have no complaints about using CGI to make Ford look younger. I trust that it will remain a common technique as we continue to use flashbacks in movies in the future.
The middle part was a bit boring, where he meets his goddaughter and is chased by Nazis again, but in a different era. Jones is grumpy, yet it's fun watching him ride a horse. Then the plot becomes a little dull and predictable, lacking synchronization. The tuk-tuk chase, although visually dramatic, was a bit of a letdown. However, the final 30 minutes were on another level. Unlike other Indiana Jones films, where you see the relic being searched for and put to work, this one took it to an epic level. I won't go into detail, but it was truly impressive.
Honestly, Jones looks worn out and it's time for him to gracefully end his adventures with this one. Overall, I enjoyed the cinema experience and would rate it 7.5 out of 10.
